When you set a new Nurburgring lap record, you can make all sorts of bold claims.
Lamborghini isn’t holding back now that its Huracan Performante is the fastest production car around the Nurburgring with a lap time of 6:52.01. After debuting at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the Italian automaker has released a new video showcasing the car, saying that it was sculpted by the wind. And in a way it was, with the Huracan boasting the Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) active aerodynamics system.

Along with lightening the car a bit, ALA does all sorts of fancy, high-tech tricky to make sure the Huracan is planted on the track at all times in the most efficient way possible. The company also gave the chassis a new setup and all of the changes work in harmony to unseat the Porsche 918 Spyder from the Nurburgring throne.
Sporting 640 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante weighs in at 3,047 pounds (1,382 kilograms) and does zero-to-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds. It’s heading to the U.S. this summer with a $274,390 price tag.
