No news on whether or when the Q2 will make it to North American showrooms but it appears Audi is already planning an SQ2 variant, according to . The Ingolstadt-based premium brand wants to get a sport version of the Q2 to market by 2018.
An SQ2 variant is likely to share technical goodies from the Audi S3, as the Q2 already comes with the Progressive Steering system found in the S3. A 2.0-liter twin-turbo unit with around 250 hp is probably where the SQ2 will be slated power-wise, while a randier RS Q2 will come later, likely with a 2.0-liter twin-turbo engine dialed up to around 305 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque as in the TTS.
