BMW has revived its branded content brainchild, BMW Films, with the release of , a mini-action thriller starring Clive Owen, Dakota Fanning, Jon Bernthal and the BMW 5 Series.

BMW Films originally launched “The Driver” series of mini-action movies in 2001 with , which was followed by seven more short films with Clive Owen in the role of Driver for hire over the next couple years, directed by and co-starring a variety of Hollywood luminaries.

While doesn’t offer any surprises or twists like , it’s a quick fix of car-chase action without having to sit through things like ‘plot’ and ‘character development’. Directed by Neill Blomkamp, whose previous directing credits include and it quickly puts the new 2017 540i front and center at the hands of Clive Owen, shuttling Dakota Fanning to safety, eluding bad-guy extraordinaire Jon Bernthal.
