And it’s just in your price range too! This Ferrari 250 GTO has been listed for £45 Million (about $56.4 Million) and already received at least one offer. Once this sale clears it will be the most expensive Ferrari ever sold.
What could drive up the cost of this vintage Italian? Well its in immaculate condition, for starters and one of only 39 GTOs, with an awesome pedigree. Chassis number #3387GT, is the second GTO ever sold and the first one to ever be raced. And boy did it race: it came in second in the first race it entered: the 1962 Sebring 12 Hours. That victory came by the hands of Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien. It began life with its second owner, Robert Grossman, shorty after and he entered it into the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car finished in sixth place there. However, it didn’t stop racing. The total tally is 27 races and 17 class podiums.
A car with that kind of racing history clearly has the performance to back it up. Under the hood of a 250 GTO is a V12 engine, that helps this car hit 62 mph in about six seconds. Top speed is also over 170 MPH.
Ferrari 250 GTOs are known to break the bank in terms of auction prices. A few years ago one sold for over $38 million and in 2013 one sold for $52 million. Now all we gotta do is win that jackpot…
