Toyota has announced it will debut a new Avalon at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The announcement was joined by a teaser image of the all-new family sedan, showing some aggressive-looking LED headlamps and a rather large lower intake grille. If you want an idea of the design direction Toyota is taking with this new Avalon, you probably don’t have to look much further than the new Camry.

We’re expecting the new Avalon to ride on a slightly lengthened version of the front-wheel drive Toyota New Global Architecture, which also serves in the Camry. Other tech from the Camry should make its way up to the Avalon, such as the onboard wi-fi, hybrid powertrain and the latest Entune 3.0 infotainment system, among more.
Stay tuned for additional information on the new Toyota Avalon following its debut on January 15th.
