Some specifications for the upcoming all-electric sedan have leaked.
First reported by InsideEVs, an inside source sent images of a comparison between the Model S and the Model 3 to a user on the Model 3 Owners Club forum. The source says the chart is to be used by Tesla salespeople to downsell the Model 3, while upselling the Model S, so don’t expect Tesla to officially publish it anytime soon. confirmed with a Tesla spokesperson that the infographic is accurate.
The leaked info states the Model 3 will go zero-to-60 mph in 5.6 seconds, although it’s unclear which setup that will be. It’s likely the launch model without all-wheel drive, as Musk has confirmed that will come at a later date. The entry-level sedan will have a range of at least 215 miles and like we already knew, Supercharging will cost additional. Those hoping to have a lot of trunk space may be disappointed to hear the Model 3 has 14 cubic feet of front and rear cargo volume, which is less than half of the 30 cubic feet in the Model S.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has also previously confirmed the Model 3 will ship with only one large screen in the center dash. It also appears it will be light on configurations, with less than 100 being offered compared to the over 1,500 combinations available for the Model S.
Most importantly, Tesla wants its salespeople to inform buyers that the Model S can be delivered in fewer than 30 days. Any new orders for the Model 3 on the other hand won’t be expected until mid-2018.
