Drivers have been asking for a Subaru BRZ STI since the little rear-drive sports coupe came into existence, but Subaru is toying with their emotions again.
Instead of giving enthusiasts what they want, the Japanese automaker will debut a Subaru BRZ STI Sport Concept at the Tokyo Auto Salon in late January. The concept will have “STI-tuned driving performance” and unique trim inside and out. Details are scarce, but from the released photo, we can see red Brembo brake calipers, unique rims, and a slightly revised front design and body kit.

The more important performance upgrades will likely focus on the suspension, but don’t hold your breath on a turbocharger or more power.
This concept would be kind of cool, except the image released by Subaru above shows a far less extreme version of the other BRZ STI concept (below) we’ve seen before that got us much more excited. Stay tuned for the Tokyo Auto Salon, when more details about this concept will be released.
