Subaru has confirmed that a new concept for a three-row crossover will debut next week, and it will likely preview the upcoming Subaru Ascent.
A tweet sent by Subaru USA confirmed the debut: “We have a new 3-row concept coming to the NY Auto show. We hope you can get a scent of what it is…” A SCENT? Get it?
Late last year, Subaru unveiled the Viziv-7 Concept at the 2016 L.A. Auto Show but made sure to emphasize that the concept didn’t preview the actual styling or design for the production model. Instead, the concept heading to New York will likely give us a better look at what to expect from the production Subaru Ascent.

Spy photographers have already caught the three-row SUV testing, and the Ascent is expected to replace the Subaru Tribeca, which was discontinued in 2014. The model will ride on Subaru’s new global platform and will only be sold in North America initially.
Check back with next week as we’ll be reporting live from the 2017 New York Auto Show.
