An official announcement is expected to come next week, but some dealerships are already taking orders for a new special edition BMW M2.
A BMW spokesman confirmed the BMW M2 Performance Edition to , and it will be priced from $61,695 including destination while being limited to 150 units. Unfortunately, we won’t get to see official photos of it until next week, but expect sporty options on the coupe including the M Driver’s package. Helping provide a firmer ride will be M Performance coilovers while an M Performance exhaust featuring titanium tips will also be offered. In addition, top speed will be increased to 168 mph from the standard M2’s 155 mph.

Power output will remain the same on the 2017 BMW M2 Performance Edition, with the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine remaining untouched at 365 horsepower. On the outside, the sports coupe will be finished in Alpine White and will be contrasted by several black accent pieces, such as the kidney grilles, side gills, and mirror caps.
To help lighten the load a bit, the interior will lose some of its luxury amenities. It will feature single-zone climate control and the smoker’s package will be removed. The seats will also be manually adjustable with no lumbar or heating features.
