Land Rover has released a new video detailing how the Range Rover Velar came to life.
The fourth member of the Range Rover family was introduced earlier this week, designed to slot between the existing Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport models. Built on Jaguar Land Rover’s Lightweight Aluminum Architecture, the British automaker’s has released a 15-minute documentary-style film directed by Ben Lawrie and narrated by British actor Damian Lewis.
The video starts by giving a background on the Velar’s design, giving an inside look at the design and prototyping process the automaker used when developing the midsize SUV. It then details into some of the Velar’s technical features, like its flush-mount deployable door handles, acoustic engineering and electronic systems.

The new Range Rover Velar will head to the U.S. later this yeaer, starting from $50,895. The model will launch with a special First Edition that will be limited to approximately 500 units in the U.S. and will be priced from $90,295. Under the hood of the Range Rover Velar First Edition is a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine providing 380 horsepower.
