It’s not quite the most expensive Camaro ever, but it’s damn close.
To bring home a ZL1 1LE, one must first option a manual 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, then tick order code A1Z for the $7,500 ZL1 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package–bringing the MSRP to $69,995, just a few grand short of the fifth-gen Camaro Z/28’s exorbitant $75,000 price tag.
“In the long, storied history of Camaro performance, there’s never been another model that matches the capability of the ZL1 1LE,” said Steve Majoros, Chevrolet cars and crossovers marketing director.
The uber Camaro’s capability comes from a race-bred carbon fiber rear wing and unique front dive planes working in conjunction with GM’s lightning fast 650-horsepower, supercharged LT4 hooked to a short throw six-speed manual.

Power is put to the pavement through a girthy set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires which wrap a set of lightweight forged aluminum wheels, helping the 1LE shed 3.3 pounds per corner compared to the regular ZL1.
In total, the 1LE’d ZL1 sheds approximately 60 pounds thanks to the wheels, thinner rear glass, and a lighter rear seat.
Stealing the show, however, is the ZL1 1LE’s suspension which features Multimatic DSSV dampers and offers an alterable front ride height, changeable castor geometry, and rear stabilizer bar with three-way adjustability. All of this adds up to a car capable of delivering 1.10g of max lateral grip. A big set of Brembo brakes will bring speeds back to boring levels.
Chevy also took the opportunity to announce it will expand 1LE package availability to 2SS coupes equipped with a manual transmission, joining the existing LS, LT, SS and ZL1 choices.
Look for availability to begin sometime this summer.
