Canadians are getting their first glimpse of spring after a long winter, and some drivers may have gone a bit overboard on their first big drive of the season.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have impounded 12 luxury cars and have charged the drivers with stunt driving over the weekend after they were caught on a highway north of Toronto engaging in an alleged street race. says the drivers also had their licenses suspended for seven days and will each have to pay a minimum $2,000 fine.
More than 50 cars were pulled over, but only 12 were impounded. Among the seized cars are a Lamborghini Huracan, Audi R8, BMW M3, Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe, Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Jaguar XF, a Ferrari, an Aston Martin and even a Rolls-Royce. It appears the group was participating in something called the North Face Rally.
Reports say some of the drivers believe they were unfairly targeted and will be fighting the charges.
Who knew Canadians could be so hardcore?
