BMW has unveiled a limited edition 2016 BMW M5 Pure Metal Silver for the U.S. market and only 50 will be available.
The special edition M5 comes with a power increase to the 4.4-liter V8 with M TwinPower turbocharging unit boosting output to 600 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque – 40 hp and 16 lb-ft over the regular M5. Coupled with the M dual clutch transmission with Drivelogic, this limited edition is good for a zero-to-60-mph sprint time of just 3.9 seconds.
Specific to this model will also be 20-inch forged wheels and changes to the suspension, which lowers the ride height by 0.4 inches and provides a firmer setup for the spring damper systems and stabilizers. The steering system and stability control are also tuned for a more sporty and precise performance. The Pure Metal Silver paint comes from BMW Individual and is the automaker’s most exclusive paint job with a metal gleam that reflects more light than any other color. Rounding out the exterior touches are also the M Performance Exhaust with carbon bezel and the black M Performance Kidney grill.
