You can never have enough Porsche spy photos.
Spy photographers managed to catch the next-generation Porsche 911 testing with its spoiler down, sporting a classic 911 profile for the modern era. The 992-generation Porsche won’t see any major changes to its design, as is par for the course on recent 991 models. Besides, there’s really no valid reason Porsche needs to overhaul the 911’s iconic design.
There will be significant changes, however, if the new Porsche 911 ends up riding on a new platform as rumors suggest. It is believed the German automaker will use the new platform to underpin several of its sports cars, including the next-generation 718 Boxster and Cayman. The Volkswagen Group may even take advantage of it by using it on the next Audi R8.

There’s also a strong possibility the 992 model will introduce the first-ever hybrid variant on the famous sports car. Porsche hasn’t shied away on how electrification can boost performance, and, sooner or later, the Porsche 911 will be next on the list to benefit.
