BMW wasted no time outfitting its all-new 5 Series sedan with M Performance Accessories.

The 2017 BMW 5 Series isn’t scheduled to arrive until February 2017, but those already looking ahead at customizing their sedan will be pleased to hear there will be plenty of M Performance Accessories available.

Launching at the same time as the BMW 540i will be the BMW M Performance Power and Sound Kit, which increases output of the six-cylinder engine by 34 horsepower to 360 hp, and maximum torque by 37 pound-feet to 369 lb-ft. According to BMW, the performance package doesn’t affect the 5 Series sedan’s fuel consumption or exhaust emission figures, at least on the EU test cycle. The package is rounded off with a matching silencer system with tailpipe trims finished in chrome or carbon fiber available.

The rear silencer will also be available as a separate option with either circular or trapezoidal tailpipe trims in chrome or carbon fiber, depending on the engine variant.

A similar package will also be available for the diesel 530d model, with the M Performance Power Kit boosting performance by 27 hp to 292 hp, while torque increases by 22 lb-ft to a total of 479 lb-ft.

Other accessories heading to the BMW 5 Series include an upgraded brake system with four-piston calipers up front and one-piston calipers in the rear, 20-inch BMW M Performance wheels and aerodynamic carbon fiber components. Inside, owners can opt for a racing-inspired cockpit with a BMW M Performance steering wheel in Alcantara with red central marking in the 12 o’clock position and silver-grey cross-stitch seam.
