The next-generation Alpina B7 has been spied testing.
Alpina’s recipe for BMW cars is still the same judging by these spy photos, which show a 7 Series upgraded with some aerodynamic tweaks to the body along with new wheels and tires. Under the hood, around 600 hp is expected from a revised version of the car’s 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The all-new 7 Seres has many attributes that will translate well for Alpina, including a new carbon fiber reinforced passenger cell that helped the car lose 200 lbs, weight distribution of nearly 50/50 and an air suspension system.
Some light revisions to the interior will no doubt be put in place as well.
BMW is rumored to be building an M7 to compete with the Mercedes S-Class AMG models, though it isn’t expected to arrive until at least next year. Until then, customers will have to go for the B7 if they want a faster, more exclusive version of the brand’s flagship.
The new Alpina B7 is likely to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of this year.
