Mugen may not inspire enthusiasts like it used to in the late 90s and early 2000s, but it’s still Honda’s turning arm; and a good one at that.
At the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon, Mugen pulled the wraps off a custom Honda Legend, which is known as the Acura RLX in North America. While the brand is mostly known for tuning Honda’s compact sports cars, that doesn’t mean it can’t get its hands dirty with a luxury sedan. In the past, Mugen has created several versions of its own vision of how a Legend should be and the latest RLX proves that it can look a lot better with just some minor accessories.
The company outfitted the luxury sedan with its own multispoke 20-inch wheels while giving the front end a carbon fiber lip spoiler. In the rear is a subtle carbon fiber trunk spoiler which the Japanese automaker calls “acceptable for a flagship car.”

The company also brought back the Honda Fit RS that debuted at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon. At this year’s show, Honda is calling it the “AutoSalon Special Model,” but it appears to be the same car as last year but it now sports a new set of wheels as well as some Mugen graphics on the hood and side of the compact hatch.
