The upcoming Hyundai i30 N sounds like no other previous Hyundai model.
Last week, spy photographers caught the Hyundai i30 N testing and looking stylish, albeit wearing a lot of camouflage. At the time, our spy photographers told us the car sounds great and now the Korean automaker is proving it. Hyundai has released a short video clip to showcase the exhaust note of the i30 N and it sounds really sporty, especially at start up.
The Hyundai i30 N is expected to be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, offering around 250 to 275 horsepower. It will be the first model in the Hyundai N performance sub-brand’s lineup and the automaker isn’t worried about making it the most powerful in its class. Instead, Hyundai wants to make it the most fun to drive.

We won’t have to wait much longer to get a look at the Hyundai i30 N in action, as it will be competing in this weekend’s 24 Hours of Nurburgring race. Unfortunately, for now, there are no plans to bring the i30 N to the U.S. But if this exhaust note is any indication of what Hyundai is working on, we can’t wait to see which model Hyundai does give the N treatment to for the U.S. market.
