Lincoln hasn’t had a totally redesigned Navigator in 11 years, but the all-new luxury SUV will debut at the 2017 New York Auto Show.

“We like to think some things are worth the wait,” Lincoln tweeted this morning along with the above teaser image for the new Navigator that shows off the SUV’s proportions and new LED headlights (and maybe even an illuminated badge).

Not much is known about the new Navigator, but the American automaker did preview the SUV with the Lincoln Navigator Concept at last year’s New York Auto Show. While it’s likely we won’t see some of the crazier features from the concept like its outrageous gullwing doors, little staircase or closet in the trunk, the exterior styling for the production model shouldn’t be too far off.

2017 New York Auto Show Coverage

The full-sized SUV will share its platform with the Ford Expedition, and it’s likely the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine found in the concept will be fitted to the production model. Expect around 350 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, which is what’s found on the F-150 with the same engine.

Expect Lincoln to put a huge focus on the interior with plenty of luxurious accessories and appointments throughout the cabin. And to keep pace with its competitors, look for advanced safety features such as pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, a 360-degree camera, enhanced park assist and a lane-keeping system.
