Expected to be called the Kia Stonic, the compact crossover has been spied testing in Germany.
The first time spy photographers caught the Stonic, it was testing on a frozen lake in Sweden but it was heavily camouflaged. This particular prototype has shed some of the camouflage, giving us a better look.
Unfortunately it’s still difficult to pick out details on the crossover’s styling, but it’s starting to look like it will resemble the Rio. The model is expected to have a closely related Hyundai variant, which means both crossovers should share powertrains while having significantly different exterior and interior styles. Expect both models to come available with a range of turbocharged engines, although it’s unclear if either will offer all-wheel drive.

The Kia Stonic is rumored to debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September before making its U.S. debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Sales could start late this year in Europe, but it’s unclear when it will arrive dealerships in North America.
