Jeep is rolling out a new concept at the Shanghai Auto Show this week, previewing a model we might see in North America with a different badge on it.
The Jeep Yuntu concept is being teased by a trio of sketches, showing a seven-seat SUV with new sharp styling. It is believed that the Yuntu is based on a stretched Jeep Cherokee platform to allow for the extra seats.
On the outside, the classic seven-slot grille is found up front, while blacked-out roof pillars and chrome trim offer some sleek style.

Of course, Jeep says that the Yuntu will have self-driving technology incorporated along with internet connectivity and biometric security measures.
It will be a plug-in hybrid as confirmed by the PHEV badge on the front doors, though no further details were offered.
A production model of the Yuntu is likely to be for the Chinese market only, although a Chrysler-badged model that uses the same plug-in hybrid powertrain is a possibility for North America. That model would be built in Belvedere, Illinois, alongside the new Jeep Cherokee.
