Ford is bringing what it calls its “smallest SUV” to the U.S. market.
The Ford EcoSport has been sold in world markets since 2003 and it will begin hitting dealerships in the U.S. by early 2018.
Powering this pint-sized SUV will be a choice between the 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder EcoBoost engine or a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine. All-wheel drive will come standard with the 2.0-liter engine, while both are matched with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Four different models – S, SE, SES and Titanium – will be available with the EcoSport, each offering its own set of features. The loaded Titanium model packs features like a boosted stereo system, while the SES model has a sport-tuned suspension and unique style. All EcoSports feature a swing-gate-style tailgate along with 30 stowable pockets, bins and hooks. Two fast-charging USB ports, a 12-volt outlet and a 110-volt outlet are all available.
The EcoSport will be built in Chennai, India and imported to the U.S.
