First 'Reborn' Jaguar Model Debuting Next Week

The first Jaguar E-Type Reborn will make its debut at the Techno-Classica Essen Show in Germany.

Jaguar Classic is offering an initial batch of 10 restored Series 1 Jaguar E-Type models, and those attending the Techno-Classica Show from April 5 to 9 will be able to check out the 1965 Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe 4.2 up close. The Jaguar E-Type Reborn is a complete service from Jaguar Classic, allowing prospective customers to purchase an original and highly collectible E-Type directly from the British automaker.

The E-Type Reborn is a first for Jaguar, but it comes as a result of the successful initiative previously introduced for Land Rover Series I and Range Rover Classic models.

Each E-Type Reborn unit will begin with a base vehicle sourced by Jaguar’s E-Type experts and will be completely restored according to the company’s original 1960s factory specification. Jaguar Classic Parts are used throughout to maximize the vehicle’s quality, longevity and collectability.

The first unit was originally exported to California in May 1965 and recorded 78,000 miles before being stored in 1983. The Opalescent Gunmetal Grey Series 1 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe retains its original matching numbers body shell, engine and gearbox, all of which have been completely rebuilt by Jaguar Classic technicians.
