Mkay, so from that portion of car customers, let's say that some of them go over the top, while having the means to do it, of course, and spend more than just a year's salary on a practical and safe family car.

In other words, apart from the stereotypical Volvo station wagon or SUV, what understated luxury-mobile you think would represent a choice for a young female entrepreneur? We decided to have a go at answering this question and came up with five choices that are obviously not set in stone.

Just like men, women are likely more inclined to go for sportier or more luxurious cars when they start earning big, which is why there is probably no such thing as a “chick car.” In other words, if you're not a woman and like any of the following cars, you shouldn't feel left out.2016 Volvo XC90

Sweden. The land of Dolph Lundgren, Absolut Vodka, lots of moose and lots of snow. Did we forget a stereotype? Ah, yes, Volvo. The 2016 XC90 is the first all-new Volvo that was developed under the Swedish company's Chinese ownership. Despite all the prejudice in the world, this fact also makes it one of the coolest Volvos in recent times, wearing a crown that was only recently stolen by the S90 and V90 brothers.

Up to seven passengers can travel in complete comfort and legendary Volvo safety with the new XC90, the Swedish engineers and designers in charge of the model couldn't have made things any better.

All-wheel-drive, impressive active and passive safety, a cozy interior and an exterior design augmented with “Thor's Hammer” headlights. If there is a large SUV cooler than the XC90 for a young female entrepreneur, we'd like to hear from it. 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe

The latest generation of the smallest sedan to wear the tri-star logo on the hood comes in a more slightly sexier shape than its predecessor, we admit. But, it also has much better ergonomics, and it's more luxurious inside. We'd even go as far as call the C-Class the most luxurious executive sedan in its segment by a very long shot.

Nearly identical from the front and when it comes to the center console, the C-Class Coupe version takes that “Mercedes-Benz Sensual Purity” design language to a whole new level. Unlike its predecessor, which appeared as an afterthought when the C-Class W204 received its mid-cycle facelift, the new C-Class Coupe was designed from the ground up as a member of the C-Class family.

Sadly, this doesn't mean that the B-pillar has disappeared from view, but it does mean that the model's proportions are exactly what you would want from a two-door in this segment. Sure, it's not exactly a car to transport all your closest friends in, but the looks, technology and luxury more than make up for it. Compared to the S-Class Coupe, whose design inspired it, the C-Coupe doesn't cost an arm and a leg either.2016 Audi A4

The second German on our list only has four doors, so practicality doesn't get out the window like in the case of the Mercedes. On the other hand, let's just say that the main reason for this particular Audi to land on our list is that Audis, in general, are both female and young entrepreneur-friendly vehicles. So, there you have it. More doors and cargo space, along with plenty of style and a business-friendly aura.

Even though from some angles the 2016 Audi A4 looks more like a facelift of its predecessor, the model is brand new form every single perspective. It rides on an entirely new platform, which uses more high-strength steel and aluminum to drop the overall weight considerably.

This makes the new A4 handle better, but it also makes it safer in the unfortunate case of a crash. Concerning active safety it's almost as good as a Tesla Model S, thanks to an optional semi-autonomous system. There is also a cornucopia of gizmos and gadgets inside if you tick the right boxes, while the understated exterior design will keep you out of the spotlight if you prefer it that way.2016 Alfa Romeo 4C

In many ways a four-cylinder supercar, the 4C is Alfa's first somewhat affordable sportscar in ages. Powered exclusively by a turbocharged, 1.8-liter, four-cylinder, the little mid-engine coupe (now available as a roadster, as well) is very much like an Italian Lotus Elise.

Don't be afraid of its above-average performance numbers, though, because the 4C can be driven safely by anybody, and it should forgive any driving mistake at legal speeds. The twin-clutch automatic transmission means that you can't row your own, but it also means that you will not be bothered to press a clutch pedal when changing gears.

Apart from the 4.5-seconds required to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from a stand still and impressive handling, the biggest reason to go for the lightest Alfa in the stable is probably its design. Alfas are usually preferred by males, mostly thanks to their sensual design, but that doesn't mean that the 4C won't be a sharp weapon in any female PR manager's arsenal. 2016 BMW i3

We know, we know. An electric car that isn't a Tesla with ludicrous acceleration and the looks of a luxury car shouldn't be on this list. On the other hand, the BMW i3 doesn't cost as much as a luxury car, and its acceleration numbers don't make it a slouch either.

Any female Yuppie (Young, Urban Professional, for those who didn't grow up in the 1980s) knows that in this day and age, having an electric car that wears a premium badge is nothing to scoff at, on the contrary. Sure, unless you go for the i3 Rex, with a range-extending internal combustion engine, you will probably only be able to use it around town, but that doesn't make it any less cool.

The only electric BMW in the current lineup looks like nothing else on the road and has an interior so Scandinavian that makes even the XC90 red with envy. It probably won't help save the polar bears in the long run, but the BMW i3 is certainly much greener than a gas-guzzling SUV with a big engine – or what most corporate folks and entrepreneurs buy nowadays.
