Chevy is preparing an all-new hot Corvette ZR1 and new spy photos have given us an early glimpse.
The most glaring addition to this car is the massive tall wing on the trunk along with a smaller wing that rides underneath right on the rear deck. There is also a large bulge seen in the hood along with new cooling vents, likely there to accommodate whatever massive powertrain lurks beneath.
Rumor has it that it will be a supercharged V8 pumping out up to 700 horsepower. A manual transmission is said to be available, while the brand’s new 10-speed automatic should also be available.

A new front lip spoiler and large air intakes to cool the brakes can also be seen, while the calipers are finished in blue, a classic ZR1 trait.
If these photos show what will be close to the production ZR1, then it is safe to say that the mid-engine Corvette that has been spied testing will not be badged as the ZR1. Some think that the mid-engine version of the Corvette will end up being sold under the Cadillac brand, while it may just be a different Corvette variant.
