The Chevrolet Bolt EV has reached nationwide availability.

Thanks to its widespread distribution a record number of Bolts found new homes last month. In September, 2,632 Bolts were sold, which is a 25-percent sales gain over the 2,107 sold in August when the car was available in less than half of the country. September also marks the seventh consecutive month of sales gains for the 238-mile battery electric vehicle.

According to , 14,302 fully electric Chevys have been shuffled off to new homes, which makes the Bolt the fifth most bought plug-in vehicle in the United States.

The increase in Bolt sales has also seemingly taken a bite out of Chevy Volt deliveries, with the brand selling 1,435 of the plug-in hybrid during September, a 28.5-percent shortfall compared to September 2016. Year-to-date sales are also down six percent through the first three quarters of 2017, a mere 2,000 sales more than the Bolt.

Depending on what happens over the next three months the all-electric Bolt could take GM’s green vehicle sales crown from the Volt after a mere 12 months on the market.
