Chevrolet Camaro Track Concept is Hardly a Concept at All

The literal bright spot of Chevrolet’s presence at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show is this satin green Camaro Track Concept – suspiciously similar to North America’s SS 1LE package.

Actually it’s equipped identically: gaining the Camaro ZL1’s FE4 suspension setup, which includes MagneRide dampers, new springs and stabilizer bars; extra engine, transmission and differential cooling, a magical electronic limited-slip diff, plus a dual-mode exhaust.

The Track Concept even wears the 1LE’s 20-inch shoes, albeit glossed instead of satin, wrapped in identical 285/30ZR20 front and 305/30ZR20 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar rubbers, and brought to a stop by the same six-piston Brembos. All in all, even the performance gain is the same, with the Track Concept capable of more than 1 g in lateral acceleration.

2017 Geneva Motor Show Coverage

Visually the Camaro Track Concept trades the 1LE’s matte black touches in exchange for a high gloss finish on the splitter, spoiler, mirrors, along with new hood and roof stripes. The 1LE similarities don’t go away inside either, with the same Recaro buckets appearing, along with a suede flat bottom steering wheel and other suede accents throughout the cabin.

Chevy says the car has been dressed in official Chevrolet Performance Parts which will be available in Europe shortly, but it wouldn’t be surprising if something similar became an orderable option package.
