A new app will help people identify cars using augmented reality.
Blippar has introduced a new app with automotive recognition software using computer vision and augmented reality that allows a user to simply aim their phone at a car to find out the year, make, and model of it. Blippar says the app can recognize any vehicle made after the year 2000 and adds other relevant information such as owner reviews, a 360-degree panorama of the interior, and a price quote. The app can also be used on moving cars as they’re going under 15 mph.

Recognizing cars isn’t the only thing Blippar can do. The app is capable of identifying various other objects including flowers, pets, and food. So now if you see a car that you really like but don’t have a clue what it is, forget using Google images.
