BMW’s seven-seat SUV has been spied testing in Sweden.
Spy photographers managed to capture our best look yet at the German automaker’s upcoming full-sized SUV that aims to compete with the Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
Riding on a stretched version of the CLAR platform, the BMW X7 will be powered by six- and eight-cylinder engines in both gasoline and diesel. Rumors suggest that a plug-in hybrid variant will also join the lineup and currently it’s unclear if a powerful V12 option will be offered.

Although the prototype is still wearing heavy camouflage, you can see large, wide versions of BMW’s signature kidney grilles with a style that resembles what first debuted on the BMW X2 Concept. It is believed that all future X models will incorporate that grille design.
The BMW X7 will be produced at the company’s plant in Spartanburg plant during 2018, which means it should be offered as a 2019 model.
