Spy photographers have caught the BMW X3 M making laps at the Nurburgring.
This will be the first time the BMW X3 has received a full-blown M variant, as BMW needs an answer to the Mercedes-AMG GLC and Audi RS Q5. The German automaker has also been spied benchmarking its X3 M prototypes against the Porsche Macan, so it appears the X3 M will pack quite a punch when it hits the market.
Like the last time the BMW X3 M was spied, we see a more aggressive front end with larger air intakes, side skirts and a rear diffuser to accompany the quad exhaust. There’s also a roof spoiler to enhance aerodynamics and naturally there are bigger brakes and wheels on all four corners.

It’s still unknown what BMW will use to power its high-performance crossover, but expect it to have comparable power to the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43, which provides 367 horses from a 3.0-liter biturbo V6 engine. Rumor has it that BMW might shoot for the 500-hp range with a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine.
Following the X3 M’s debut, BMW will add an M variant to its X4 as well.
