BMW Calls Back 154K Vehicles Over Engine Stalling

BMW is recalling around 154K cars and SUVs in North America for a wiring issue.

In the affected models, which are the 5-Series, X5, 6-Series and X6 from the 2007-2012 model year, there is a chance the engine can stall. BMW says that the wiring to the fuel pump inside the gas tank wasn’t properly crimped, which can cause the wires to come loose and melt a connector, leading to a fuel leak.

This will render the fuel pump inoperable and lead to an engine stall.

BMW dealers will replace the fuel pump at no cost to the owner. BMW says that the recall is expected to begin on December 5.
