Luxury sedan shoppers now have a new plug-in hybrid option in the market.

The BMW 740e xDrive iPerformance plug-in hybrid will arrive at U.S. dealerships this month and will start at $90,095 including destination. Featuring a turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired to an electric motor, the BMW 7 Series plug-in hybrid has a total system output of 322 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The powerplant is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic transmission with power being sent to all four wheels thanks to BMW’s xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system.

According to BMW, the engine itself provides 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful four-cylinder engine BMW has ever used in a series-produced model. The electric motor generates 111 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, making it a great complement to the turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
