Bentley Flying Spur Mule Spied Wearing Porsche Panamera Suit

The next-generation Bentley Flying Spur should debut late next year.

The British automaker is using a Porsche Panamera as a mule for early testing, since the new Flying Spur will ride on the same MSB-F platform. The Panamera has been modified quite a bit to reflect the Flying Spur, with wider fenders and a longer wheelbase. Although it’s hard to accurately gauge on spy photos alone, it appears the mule’s wheelbase is slightly longer than the Porsche Panamera Executive model, which means the Flying Spur should grow noticeably in size.

Our spy photographers also pointed out that the rear doors were entirely made of plastic.

The Flying Spur essentially serves as a four-door, sedan version of the Continental GT. It is believed the next-generation Continental GT will be influenced by the EXP10 Speed 6 Concept, so you can expect the Flying Spur to get a similar treatment.

Since it’s sharing a platform with the Panamera, expect the Flying Spur to share powertrain as well. Hopefully the 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine lives on.

Look for the next-generation Bentley Flying Spur to make its debut sometime next year before heading to dealerships in late 2018 or early 2019. Spy photographers expect to catch a full-body prototype testing later this year.
