The Audi TT RS Roadster is being put through its paces at the world-famous Nurburgring.

Spy photographers have caught the new Audi TT RS Roadster on the track now that test season has officially opened. In fact, it appears the German automaker had a long winter waiting, as the TT RS Roadster was one of the first vehicles seen this season.

There is still quite a bit of snow around the track, so maybe it was a bit too chilly to drop the top on the TT RS convertible. Expect the luxury sports car to be powered by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine delivering around 400 horsepower mated to either a six-speed manual or an S-tronic transmission.

The 2017 Audi TT RS Coupe was spied last month with a manual transmission, an option that enthusiasts were worried would disappear with the new model. Since the new Audi TT RS didn’t make its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, it will likely bow later this year at the Paris Motor Show. The convertible variant is usually unveiled around six months after the coupe debuts.
