These spy pictures of the Audi RS4 Avant testing just came across our desk, and it finally looks like we’re getting an honest view of what the car will look like.
Until now, Audi has been testing cars with false wheel arches and other trickery designed to conceal the RS4’s appearance.
This camouflaged RS4 Avant, though, has real wheel arches as well as what looks like a unique front bumper (not the one from the S4, as we’ve seen previously). It also looks like the rear spoiler has changed slightly since the last time we saw this Audi testing.

Power for the RS4 will come from the same 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 as the RS5 that Audi designed jointly with Porsche. Although it won’t produce any more horsepower (450 horsepower) than its predecessor, it is expected to produce more than 100 pound-feet of torque more, which drivers are likely to notice.
Unfortunately, we aren’t expecting the RS4 Avant to debut until September at the Frankfurt Auto Show and there’s no confirmation yet regarding North American availability. Fortunately, its sister car, the RS5, is expected to make its debut in Geneva next month.
