Acura is sending its brand new sports car to pace one of the world’s most famous hill climbs.

The Pikes Peak hill climb has enlisted the Acura NSX as the pace car for this year. It will lead the field of 140 different entrants up the 12.4-mile, 156-turn course.

To show off the run, Acura will install 24 cameras along the course to capture the car’s progress, which will allow fans to watch the entire run up the hill live.

The NSX was specially prepared by Honda R&D Americas and will be driven by Sage Marie, senior manager for American Honda public relations. The basic setup of the NSX will remain the same, using a twin-turbo V6 mated to a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic for power. A three motor Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system is also in place.

The 2015 Pikes Peak hill climb takes place on June, 28. The NSX pace car is one of four Acura models making the Pikes Peak run. The others three are the Acura ILX and TLX sports sedans along with a previous generation NSX.
