Tesla will run a competition for fan-made commercials.
The American automaker has never found a need to advertise like traditional automakers, especially considering its vehicles can’t be sold in every state. Instead, Tesla relies on social media for its marketing and has done quite successful without advertising.
But a fifth-grade girl named Bria wanted to change that, writing a letter to Tesla CEO Elon Musk for a school project. “I have noticed that you do not advertise, but many people make homemade commercials for Tesla and some of them are very good, they look professional and they are entertaining,” she wrote. “So, I think that you should run a competition on who can make the best homemade Tesla commercial and the winners will get their commercial aired.”

In typical Musk fashion, the CEO responded on Twitter to the letter, saying that the company will do as she suggests. No details on the contest have been announced yet, but we can’t wait to see the submissions from the internet that will likely involve cats… lots and lots of cats.
Thank you for the lovely letter. That sounds like a great idea. We’ll do it! https://t.co/ss2WmkOGyk
