The venue was chosen for the British public unveiling because it is there where the Ferrari Challenge UK race series kicks off, a competition dedicated to customers who own a Ferrari 488 Challenge race car. And the F8 packs an engine that is closely related to the one used in those cars, making Brands Hatch a fitting place to show the powertrain's evolution.
Being meant as a replacement for the 488 GTB that was introduced in 2015 – in fact the F8 is a facelift of the GTB complete with a name change – the car uses a turbocharged V8 engine capable of developing 710 horsepowerand 770 Nm of torque.
As it develops 50 hp more than the GTB the engine in the F8 Tributo is the most powerful V8 ever to be mounted in a non-special series car wearing the Prancing Horse badge.
Design-wise, the carmaker promises this car is the most aerodynamic berlinetta ever designed. The car was drawn by the Ferrari Styling Centre and does not stray too far from the GTB. The changes however are meant as a “bridge to a new design language that will continue to emphasise Ferrari's key characteristics” in its future cars.
The F8 Tributo’s configurator is already online and prices will only be available after the configuration is made. Deliveries of the vehicle will begin later this year.
