2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS Drops Heavy Camouflage to Show Off its Sexy Lines

We finally have a better idea on what Mercedes-Benz is doing with its next-generation CLS.

Spy photographers have caught the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS testing once again, but this time the prototype isn’t wearing the heavy camouflage we saw last time. The overall design looks familiar, but the CLS will receive a new shape on the front grille, with a wider opening at the bottom. The changes will also make the design of the CLS consistent with other new Mercedes-Benz models, especially when it comes to the interior.

Treated with a single photo of the cabin, we can see the interior is influenced by the E-Class model, highlighted by a green shade, which is one of 64 ambient light colors buyers get to choose from.

The next-generation CLS will ride on the same platform as the new E-Class, but it will be longer and wider to accommodate the CLS. Engine options will be borrowed from the E-Class, including the high-performance AMG variants. This also means a plug-in hybrid CLS is a strong possibility.

Europeans will be disappointed to hear the CLS Shooting Brake won’t live on for the new generation due to slow sales.
