The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Convertible has made its debut against a rather appropriate backdrop – sunny Los Angeles.
The ZR1 Convertible uses the same 755 horsepower LT5 V8 that debuted in the hardtop version, which is linked to the same eight-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmission. Chevy claims a 0-60 mph time of under 3 seconds and a quarter-mile sprint time of around 10 seconds. The ZR1 Convertible is also only 60 lbs heavier than the hardtop – all thanks to the Corvette’s extremely rigid chassis.

“The ZR1 convertible is a no-compromise supercar,” said Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter. “Thanks to the strong structure, the suspension tuning between coupe and convertible models is identical, meaning the ZR1 convertible offers the same benchmark performance, including a top speed of over 200 mph.”

Just like the hardtop, the ZR1 Convertible can be had with a ZTK Performance Package, which adds a deeper front splitter, a larger rear wing, sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and Magnetic Ride suspension. With the uprated aero kit, the supercar makes 950 lbs of downforce.
The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will start at $119,995, while the ZR1 Convertible will carry a small price premium bumping the base price to $123,995.
