The BMW X4 has once again been spied testing, giving us a clear look at the upcoming coupe-styled crossover.
This is our best view yet of the new body lines on the X4, which have been changed substantially, especially at the rear end. Width has been added to the rear end style, which to our eyes flows much better now.
Both the new X4 and its sibling the X3 will ride on the new CLAR modular platform that will help both crossovers lose weight and incorporate new technology. Under the hood, a lineup of inline four-cylinder engines including a diesel and plug-in hybrid are expected while a larger 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder will be available.

Two different performance variants are also likely to arrive for the X4, the X4 M40i, and a full-on X4 M.
Exactly when the new BMW X4 will debut is still unknown, though it will likely be sometime around the end of 2017. Both the new X3 and X4 could debut together at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, though it is also possible that the X4’s debut will be saved for a later date.
