Subaru previewed its upcoming three-row crossover at the 2017 New York Auto Show.
Called the Ascent, the model rides on Subaru’s new global platform and features styling that’s more in line with the automaker’s existing models. Although the platform is shared with the existing Impreza and Crosstrek, the concept’s wheelbase has been stretched to 117 inches, making it about four inches longer than the Ford Explorer.
What’s noticeable is the Ascent’s size, something Subaru hopes will attract consumers that found the Tribeca too small. But since this is still a concept, we won’t know all the details about the production model until it’s ready to debut.
