Bigger and better, Chevrolet introduced the 2018 Traverse in Detroit.
The second-generation model offers more passenger and cargo space than before, with the American automaker promising best-in-class designations in both categories. And despite being longer, it’s lighter with the base model expected to weigh around 4,362 pounds – a nice change compared to the 4,713 lbs from its predecessor. That also means Chevrolet was able to squeeze in a smaller engine for fuel efficiency, adding a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder to the lineup with an estimated 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

The existing naturally-aspirated V6 engine will also be in the lineup with an estimated 305 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will come paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive standard and all-wheel drive available as an option.
