CARS.COM — Chevrolet supersized its people-mover for 2018, giving the redesigned Traverse more room for passengers and stuff, as well as additional safety and convenience features and a big, bold face. What didn't inflate as much is the three-row SUV's price: The 2018 Traverse starts at $30,875, slightly higher than the model-year 2017's $29,595 base price; all prices include a destination charge.

The new Traverse gained additional standard features, and its base price is competitive against rivals like the Ford Explorer ($32,605), Honda Pilot ($31,685) and Toyota Highlander ($31,590). For 2018, several trims will be available, including L, LS, LT and Premier, along with the sport-themed RS and luxury-minded High Country trim levels. A Redline package will also be available on Premier models, featuring a blacked-out appearance with red accents.
Standard on all Traverse models are keyless entry and push-button start, a rearview camera, USB charging in all three rows, active noise cancellation, tri-zone climate control, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Several new standards are aimed at families, including the Smart Slide second-row seat that provides easy access to the third row even when an empty forward-facing car seat is installed, as well as the Teen Driver monitoring system and Rear Seat Reminder alert system.
The inclusion of 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot capability is also standard, but customers must opt for a prepaid Wi-Fi data plan for $20 per month. Chevrolet says the system can support as many as seven devices.
Depending on the trim, available features include the Surround Vision camera system, a hands-free power liftgate, power-folding third row, heated and ventilated leather-trimmed front seats, a heated steering wheel and second row seats, and wireless device charging.
