2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Spied Testing with Aggressive Styling

Spy photographers have given us the best look yet at the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

Although it’s still heavily camouflaged, there’s plenty of evidence that the new Corvette ZR1 will feature aggressive styling bumper-to-bumper. Up front, massive air intakes and vents are lightly covered so that the brakes and engine can be kept cool and there’s hints that the ZR1 will use carbon fiber body panels. This particular prototype is missing the massive rear spoiler that has been spotted previously, but there are still two posts on the trunk, showing that the wing will likely still be used.

The camouflage up front is also concealing what appears to be a prominent front lip spoiler, and while it’s difficult to see all the details, expect serious aerodynamic bits on the ZR1 when it debuts sometime next year.

Power should come from a supercharged V8 engine offering over 700 horsepower, paired to a manual transmission. It seems unlikely that the 10-speed automatic transmission from the Z06 will be offered on the ZR1.
