Following up on the news that the 2018 Audi S4 would out drag the competition, the zero-to-60 time and pricing for the 2018 Audi S5 Sportback have also been revealed.
And again, the Audi S5 outruns the competition off the line with a zero-to-60-mph time of 4.5 seconds (BMW 440i Gran Coupe does it in 4.9 seconds) and a starting price of $54,400 in the U.S.
That acceleration comes thanks to the same 3.0-liter V6 engine that powers the S4. Making 354 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, power is routed to all four wheels via Audi’s eight-speed Tiptronic transmission.
While the eight-speed should be good for keeping drivers in the power band whatever their speed, it won’t be especially difficult because the new turbocharged six makes all of its torque from 1,370 to 4,500 rpm.

The Audi S5 Sportback also comes chock-full of luxury, with standard 18-inch five-double-spoke-star design wheels, a leather/Alcantara trimmed interior, diamond stitched seats, power sunroof, heated front seats, and more.
If drivers are in the mood to drop some cash, though, they can also get 19-inch five-spoke-cavo wheels, a full color head-up display, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound, ventilated front seats, and more.
The Audi S5 Sportback starts at $54,400 for the Premium Plus package and goes up to $58,800 for Prestige trim, plus the $975 destination fee.
Expect to see the 2018 Audi S5 Sportback in showrooms this spring.
