The subcompact SUV will start at $22,380 (all prices include a $960 destination charge) when it hits dealerships May 11.

The Rogue Sport, which we first saw at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, comes in the same three trim levels as its non-Sport sibling: S, SV and SL. The front-wheel-drive versions of the S, SV and SL start at $22,380, $23,980 and $27,030, respectively. All-wheel drive adds $1,350 across the board.

For comparison, the larger 2017 Rogue starts at $24,760, while the smaller 2017 Juke starts at $21,190. For further comparison, the 2017 versions of the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV-4 start at $24,645, $24,985 and $25,870, respectively.

Nissan says the Rogue Sport is “designed for youthful couples and singles seeking the versatility of a crossover and enough space when they need it, while offering the sporty feel and handling more in line with a small sedan.”

Actually based on a different vehicle from the regular Rogue, the Qashqai as it’s called elsewhere in the world, the Rogue Sport dumps the Rogue’s third row, leaving seating for five instead of seven. Cargo space shrinks to 22.9 cubic feet behind the second row and 61.1 cubic feet with the seats folded from the Rogue’s 39.3 and 70 cubic feet. While the regular Rogue is powered by a 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, the Sport gets a 141-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder that sends power through a continuously variable automatic transmission, and a four-wheel independent suspension system.

Available comfort and convenience features include heated leather seats, Nissan’s Divide-N-Hide cargo system, a backup camera, Siri Eyes Free, the NissanConnect multimedia system with navigation and mobile apps, a 7.0-inch touchscreen display, hands-free text messaging, Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, adaptive cruise control and SiriusXM satellite radio with a subscription.

Advanced safety features available on the Rogue Sport as part of the Nissan Intelligent Safety suite include auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and lane keep assist.

If these new features make you want to checkout a 2019 Nissan Rogue SL for Sale, you may research more information online or visit your local dealership to see it in person.
