The Peugeot 3008 SUV has been named 2017 European Car of the Year.
The winner was announced in Geneva by a judging panel made up of 58 European journalists from 22 European countries. With a score of 319 points, the Peugeot 3008 beat the Alfa Romeo Giulia (296), Mercedes-Benz E-Class (197), Volvo S90/V90 (172), Citroen C3 (166), Toyota C-HR (165) and Nissan Micra (135) for the coveted award.

The Peugeot 3008 is the fifth car from the French automaker to win Car of the Year and is the first SUV honored in the history of the award. Previous Peugeot winners include the 308 in 2014, the 307 in 2002, the 405 in 1988 and the 504 in 1969.
