CARS.COM — Cadillac dumped the ATS sports sedan's 2.5-liter engine for the 2017 model year, leaving the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder as the base engine. Other new additions this year include the Carbon Black Package with a black-chrome grille, black side-window trim, 18-inch dark-finish wheels, a rear V-Series spoiler, carbon-fiber cabin trim and Recaro sport front seats, along with a standard Cadillac User Experience multimedia system.

The rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan's base engine provides 272 horsepower and is mated to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission; all-wheel drive and a 335-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 are optional. The Phantom Gray Metallic tester we used in Cars.com's 2017 Luxury Sedan Challenge — for which we recently put seven market rivals through a battery of tests over the course of several days outside Atlanta — had the base engine, eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-drive along with the Carbon Black Package, which accounted for $2,950 of the sedan's $45,830 price tag, including a $995 destination charge.
Optional equipment on our test car included V-Sport red brake calipers and a power sunroof. Interior features included a handcrafted interior, leather seating surfaces, heated eight-way power adjustable front seats with lumbar support, a 5.7-inch full-color gauge cluster, 8-inch multimedia display and a backup camera.
