The 2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo has been introduced with sportier styling just in time for summer.

The new 3 Series Gran Turismo is nearly eight inches longer than the standard 3 Series, coming in at a total of 15.8 feet. For the 2017 model year, the German automaker updated its design for a greater dynamic effect up front and in the rear, while adding new standard features like LED headlights, LED foglights and updated LED tail lights. Inside, the 2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo gets a more sophisticated feel with upgraded materials and accents. Extra chrome can be found around the interior controls along with new decorative wood elements, colors and leather trim variants available to buyers.

Two new engines join the lineup, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mill and a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine. Both powerplants are part of BMW’s new modular engine architecture, which means the models are getting a name change as well. The former 328i Gran Turismo is now the 330i Gran Turismo, while the 335i Gran Turismo becomes the 340i Gran Turismo. On the four-cylinder 330i Gran Turismo, power output is now at 248 horsepower compared to the previous 240-hp figure, and the 340i Gran Turismo gets 320 hp compared to the 330i Gran Turismo’s 300 hp. Standard on all models are all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Customers can choose from three different equipment lines for the 3 Series Gran Turismo: Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport. The popular BMW Estoril Blue shade is available exclusively on M Sport models.

Expect pricing for the 2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo to be announced closer to its launch this summer.
